Mother’s Day Gift Ideas - for the Gardener
If you haven’t figured out your mother’s day gift yet you may be thinking it’s too late - but I’m here to tell you, the perfect gift is worth waiting for! I’ve put together a list of the perfect gifts for the gardener in your life. Many of these items are already in my personal backyard garden, and those that aren’t are on my wishlist *hint hint.
Subpod
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love my Subpod! If you’re not familiar, this is an in-ground worm farm for backyard composting that will work wonders in your garden. I have mine buried in one of my 4’x8’ raised beds and just having it there has drastically improved the health of my vegetables. In fact, the closer proximity the plants are to the bin, the larger and more productive they’re been. I would love to add more bins to my garden. Not only do they improve my garden production, they’ve also helped divert the majority of our food waste (think banana peels, strawberry tops, expired lettuce, etc.) as well as 100% of our paper recycle from leaving our home and turned it all into “black gold” to use in the garden.
I have been looking at the Flow Hive for over a year now and would love to have one in my garden some day. If you aren’t familiar, these bee hives are magical. The design is truly unique and disrupts the bees much less than traditional frames. In fact, you just need to turn a key to open the frame and allow the honey to pour out of the spout. I love the idea of connecting a bit more with nature and think it would be a fun hobby to share with my little one. It would also be a great addition to my garden, simply for pollinating my vegetables!
Cedar Planters
These beautiful raised and elevated planters are perfect for those with a small patio or small space for growing. They have a beautiful, modern design and are made from sustainable cedar and sturdy steel brackets.
